For Jordi Camarena, Agronomy Director at Agro Cycle Life, CropX revealed a reason to rethink an established irrigation routine.
At a mandarin orchard in Lliria, near Valencia, Spain, Jordi uses the Vertex V4 soil moisture sensor y Evato, which measures actual evapotranspiration, to better understand soil conditions and crop water use.
The team typically irrigated six days a week. Sensor data showed that the trees were experiencing stress on the day without irrigation.
They switched to daily irrigation, shortening sessions by around 10–15 minutes on the other days. Jordi reports a positive plant response, supported by the stress data.
By combining field experience with measurements and historical insights, the team could make informed decisions and check the results.
Watch the video below to hear Jordi explain how CropX helped his team turn data into action.
